Egyptian information

During guided reading these boys have been demonstrating their knowledge of headings, diagrams and captions. Here the boys have each produced some information about Egyptian pyramids.

Marvellous maths

Another hard worker in Plane class. Lauren has been learning about using written methods for adding and subtracting number. Lauren has also been learning about place value.

Egyptian Mummy Cake!

Jessica baked a cake as part of her homework project in Year 3/4, Hornbeam class.

This is a fabulous cake that represents Jessica's understanding mummification!

Problem Solving with words and letters!

Hannah and Paul knocked on my door to explain that they had been the first to solve a problem set in Maple Class!

Each letter of the alphabet had been given a monetary value, i.e a = 1p b = 5p etc.

Paul and Hannah found a word that when the letters were added together equalled £1 which was the nature of the challenge!

Well done both of you!

Terrific writing

Joshua has been writing a biography about a made up character called Jack Lee. Joshua used an Alpha Smart to type his work before transferring to a computer.

Target Writing

Recount of the Go Run for Fun event

Well, well, well! I have been blown away by the quality and quantity of writing that Tilly has produced following her trip to the Olympic Park yesterday!

This photograph shows some of Tilly's writing that she completed in just one hour. Incredible!

I know that mum and dad will be so delighted, as indeed we are!

Playground development

These Year 5 children have presented a fantastic analysis of the current playground design in the Ivy Chimneys Park.

Their design work is clearly annotated with photographs of the existing equipment. Wow! I'm looking forward to seeing their designs for the new park!

Ivy Chimneys Playground

Anna and Lauren have been working on designing and developing a new park for the Ivy Chimneys Playground next to our school.

Today they have created a budget sheet detailing the equipment and the cost of each item. The girls have even calculated how much concrete is needed for each item depending on its size and the cost of the concrete.

I am so impressed. Well done girls!

Working with money

Daniel has delighted me this morning with his work on money and finding the number of coins needed to make a certain amount of money.
